Taylor Swift Hotel Information Leaked, Swifties Help Cover It Up

While some fans leaked Taylor Swift‘s private hotel information, other Swifties attempted to hide the information from being publicly available.

While there is much controversy surrounding the pop star’s three shows at Nilton Santos Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, one of the trending topics on Twitter as of Saturday (Nov. 18) was terminology leaking the hotel that Swift is staying at. Some fans leaked the information so others could wait outside the hotel to catch a glimpse of the “Lover” singer.

While some considered this a form of doxing and would create a security risk for every celebrity, thousands of her Swifties came to her defense. While the trending topics kept growing, a legion of fans used the most searched terminology such as “Taylor Swift hotel leak,” “Taylor Swift address” and “Taylor Swift staying” to create their own tweets with random (some nonsensical) tweets to overload the search query and make it harder to find for those people attempting to discover it.

It has been an eventful time for Swift in Brazil. The city was experiencing a heat wave, with government officials citing a heat warning. During her first concert on Friday (Nov. 17),  23-year-old attendee Ana Clara Benevides died due to cardiac arrest during the second song in Swift’s set, “Cruel Summer.” Additionally, more than a thousand people sought medical treatment for the extreme heat suffering from passing out and other heat-related illnesses and symptoms.

There were numerous issues during the first concert such as lack of water, reports of emergency exits being locked, air ducts covered and the pyrotechnics of the show still taking place in the extreme heat. Despite the numerous safety precautions that were put into place for the second night, shortly after fans entered the stadium, Swift announced via an Instagram Story that the show would be postponed until Monday (Nov. 20).

“I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show,” Swift wrote in an Instagram Story after the Friday concert, although it was reported that she actually suffered from the cardiac arrest during “Cruel Summer” in Swift’s set. “I can’t even tell you how devastated I am. There’s very little information I have other than the fact that she was incredibly beautiful and far too young. I’m not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it. “
