We are still under the National State of Emergency
Gov. Jim Justice’s “Stay At Home” order, issued on March 23, 2020, is still in effect. It directs all West Virginia residents to stay at home and limit movements outside of their homes beyond essential needs. Non-essential Businesses and operations must temporarily cease operations.

Fayette County reporting its first case
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) is the official reporting agency for COVID-19, which in turn provides official case numbers to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Medical providers and laboratories are required to report positive test results to DHHR. The data in the daily reports include all known positive cases but underreports the total number of individuals tested as not all laboratories are able to electronically submit negative test results.
Gov. Justice continues to encourage all West Virginians to follow the guidelines presented by President Donald J. Trump to avoid social gatherings of more than 10 people.

Dream Center distribution/Fishes and Loaves
An emergency drive-thru food distribution this Tuesday (4/7) from 1-3 at Fishes and Loaves for those who pre-registered and those who Need food during the COVID 19. We encourage those who are a part of our senior program to come and get their box of food. No will be signing or getting out of their car.
The City of Beckley’s Annual Spring Clean-up which was originally scheduled to begin on April 20 is now being CANCELLED due to COVID-19 Virus health concerns. The City’s Board of Public Works may consider having a clean-up in the fall of 2020 or just bring it back in the spring of 2021. Please do not place any more items out by the curb! For more information, Public Works’ number is 304-256-1740. The clean-up has always been a great service for our citizens and we hope to offer it again in the future. Thanks for your cooperation!
The old Raleigh County Courthouse facility will be closed to the public until further notice. We continue to urge the public to utilize our services by U.S. Mail, or by visiting our websites.

Expect to hear from Raleigh County Schools this afternoon as they are making plans for their 5 day meal pick up. They plan to run on Thursday this week. They are determining times and pick up locations today.

COVID-19 Drive-through testing will be provided Tuesday and Thursday this week in Fayette County. Please contact the Fayette County Health Department at 304-574-1617 if you feel you need to be tested.
