Lady Gaga, the Recording Academy salutes you. Again.
The pop superstar is celebrating is celebrating her hattrick of Grammy Award nominations with a throwback, feel-good clip with Ben Rice, her co-producer and engineer on “Shallow.”
The video captures the pair in great spirits on July 9, 2018, just moments after they turned in the final master for the A Star Is Born soundtrack.
“I am overwhelmed with joy that our work on A Star Is Born continues to be recognized over a year after it was released. THANK U recording academy for the 3 Grammy nominations today,” she writes.
In the Instagram clip, Gaga’s gives the count, they both holler. Gaga bellows but Rice goes high. So, so high. “It’s the exact same mood that I have today finding out we were nominated for best compilation soundtrack, song of the year, and best song written for visual media (the song categories for two years in a row,” she continues.
Gaga is on the verge of double-figure Grammy wins. She’s claimed nine from 27 nominations over her career, including a pair of wins for “Shallow” at the 61st annual Grammys, for best song written for visual media and best pop duo/group performance.
The single, recorded by Gaga and her co-star and A Star Is Born director Bradley Cooper, went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, on the way setting a new mark (45 weeks) for longevity on the chart for an Academy Award winner for best original song.
