Ariana Grande hasn’t been feeling well during her Sweetener tour lately, but one special guest made her feel a whole lot better. The songstress took to Instagram on Wednesday (Nov. 20) to share a photo backstage at her concert smiling alongside Democratic presidential hopeful, Senator Bernie Sanders.
“MY GUY. thank you Senator Sanders for coming to my show, making my whole night and for all that you stand for !!!” she wrote alongside two snaps of the duo cheesin’ and hugging it out. She then went on to note that through her tour’s partnership with HeadCount, “we’ve already registered 20k+ young voters at my shows and more online and we aren’t stopping any time soon. proud of my fans for paying attention and getting involved. we adore you! also… i will never smile this hard again.”
The senator commented a sweet message on the post, thanking the songstress “for not only being a wonderful entertainer, but also for being such an outstanding advocate for social justice. We must all be prepared – like Ariana – to fight for everyone who is struggling.”
This isn’t the first time Ari and Sanders have been in touch. Last month, Grande teased her remix on Lizzo’s “Good as Hell” by tweeting out the fun lyric from the track, “baby how u feelin.” Sanders promptly answered, “Ready to fight for Medicare for All,” to which Grande replied “screaming.”
