Don’t mess with Elizabeth Warren. The Democratic presidential candidate has a way with words, a fighting spirit and seems to have a plan for everything. And she can count on support from an EGOT, John Legend, as she continues her run for office in 2020.
In an interview for Vanity Fair, Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen go deep into their love of family, and their dislike for the “s—ty human being” ruling the country right now. They’re also firm supporters of Warren for next year’s election.
“My favorite—I’m going to say it, we’ll break news today—is Elizabeth Warren,” Legend admits. “She’s the best candidate running today and she comes at it with joy and with sincerity and with a wealth of knowledge and experience.”
“I love Elizabeth Warren,” Teigen added. “I also love Kamala Harris.”
He wasn’t done with his praise. “Honestly, I don’t comprehend why guys hate women so much sometimes,” Legend continued. “You see someone as transparently competent and eloquent and on fire as Elizabeth Warren and then you hear some guys just are not into voting for a woman. Why do guys feel so threatened by the idea of a woman president?”
In giving thanks, Warren, U.S. Senator for Massachusetts and formerly a law school professor, fired off a two-sentence tweet in which she pays tribute to Legend and Teigen, and takes a swipe at Donald Trump.
“I’m grateful down to my toes for your support, John Legend,” she wrote. “Looking forward to the day Chrissy Teigen doesn’t have to fight with the president of the United States on Twitter.”

It was only last month when Teigen was engaged in a war of words with Trump which, early on, saw the POTUS refer to the model, TV host and mom as the “filthy mouthed wife” of Legend, and reached a crescendo when Teigen returned fire by calling Trump “the pussy ass bitch president,” a burn which became a hashtag.
In a crowded field of contenders for the top job, many analysts see Warren as a top-four on the Democratic primary leaderboard, perhaps even as high as the top pick.
Over the years, she’s come in for numerous verbal volleys from Trump, who has repeatedly referred to her as “fake Pocahontas” over her claim to Native American ethnicity.
