Over the past two decades, few have mastered the art of quirky indie pop like Peter Bjorn and John. The Swedish trio is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2020, and on Friday (Oct. 18) they announced a new studio LP and American tour to mark the occasion.
The lead single is a jaunty little nugget called “Rusty Nail,” which introduces Endless Dream, the band’s ninth studio album. It’s due March 13 via INGRID, the label arm of the Swedish art collective PB&J helped found earlier this decade. The band began work on Endless Dream at INGRID Studios in Stockholm shortly after wrapping its previous album, 2018’s Darker Days.
“This time the tone is bright,” the band’s John Eriksson said of the new music. “It’s about people trying to find colors in this dark world.”
